Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan, yaitu: (1) mendeskripsikan tanggapan mahasiswa dalam cerita pendek “Apakah Rumah Kita Akan Tenggelam” melalui tema dan penokohan; (2) mendeskripsikan tanggapan mahasiswa mengenai fenomena lingkungan dalam cerpen. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Data penelitian, yakni tanggapan mahasiswa. Sumber data penelitian, yakni: (1) angket; (2) teks cerita pendek diunduh secara daring melalui web lakonhidup.com. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori resepsi sastra dan teori ekokritik. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 247 mahasiswa. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 80 mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian, yakni angket dan cerpen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik angket, baca, dan catat. Teknik penarikan sampel, yakni teknik purposive sampling (pengambilan data secara acak). Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: (1) tema dan penokohan. Dalam tanggapan mahasiswa ditemukan tema banjir, tema bencana alam, dan tema variatif; selanjutnya (2) fenomena lingkungan yang ditemukan dalam tanggapan mahasiswa, yakni fenomena bencana alam dan binatang.

This study aimed, namely: (1) to describe students' responses in the short story "Is Our House Will Drown" through themes and characterizations; (2) describe student responses about environmental phenomena in short stories. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Research data, namely student responses. The sources of research data, namely: (1) questionnaire; (2) short story texts can be downloaded boldly through the web lakonhidup.com. The theory used in this research was the theory of literary reception and ecocritic theory. The population investigated was from 247 students. The research sample was 80 students. Research instruments, namely questionnaires and short stories. Data collection was carried out through questionnaire techniques, reading, and taking notes. The sampling technique used was the purposive sampling technique (random data collection). The results of the research were as follows: (1) themes and characterizations. The students' responses found themes of natural disasters and varied themes; then (2) environmental phenomena found in student responses, namely natural disasters and animals.
