Abstract

Cases that are tried often attract public attention and are discussed by many groups, especially cases that involving high-ranking officials or important people in a country. In disclosing cases, the thing that is considered is the disclosure of the proffesing faith of the witnesses. Language becomes a tool for such disclosure. This paper aims to describe the forms and motives of presupposition in the witness of Ferdy Sambo’s household assistants at the first hearing. The analysis of this paper uses qualitative methods. The data collection method use basic techniques of tapping and advanced techniques use taking a note. The results of the analysis show that there are five forms of presupposition that appear in the witness of Ferdy Sambo’s household assistants, namely existential, factive, lexical, non-factive, and counterfactual presuppositions. Meanwhile, the motive of "protecting" is indicated by the appearance of the five presuppositions.

Kasus yang dipersidangkan sering kali menarik atensi masyarakat dan menjadi pembicaraan oleh banyak kalangan, terutama kasus yang melibatkan petinggi atau orang penting di suatu negara. Dalam pengungkapan kasus, hal yang diperhatikan adalah pengungkapan kesaksian dari para saksi. Bahasa menjadi alat untuk pengungkapan tersebut. Makalah ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan wujud dan motif presuposisi dalam kesaksian ART Ferdy Sambo pada persidangan perdana. Analisis makalah ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dasar sadap dan teknik lanjutan berupa catat. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat lima wujud presuposisi yang muncul dalam kesaksian ART Ferdy Sambo, yaitu presuposisi eksistensial, faktif, leksikal, nonfaktif, dan kontrafaktual. Sementara itu, motif “melindungi” terindikasi dari kemunculan kelima presuposisi tersebut.
