Author Guidelines

Preparation of manuscripts


The author should carefully prepare the manuscript based on the following instructions: (1)all texts should be written with the usage of APA 6th edition; (2) Consult the APA Publication Guide for specific guidelines regarding the format of the manuscript, abstracts, citations and references, tables and figures, and other matters of the editorial format, and; (3) Tables and imagesare used only when needed.


Types of Manuscripts
All submitted texts should specify such categories: (1) Research Articles; or (2) extensive articles / book reviews / report review / literature review / conceptual research. Articles from Thesis (S1), Thesis (S2) or Dissertation (S3) require permission from academic supervisor (a formal letter is required).
Manuscripts Submissions
Before submitting the manuscript, please read these following instructions: 
1) Manuscripts are the work of the author (original - not plagiarized) and have never been published in other journals;
2) Articles can be written in English or bahasa Indonesia, but Abstracts and Keywords should be written in English;
3) Manuscripts must be filed digitally. Microsoft Office (2010 or higher) is recommended to use and extension documents (.rtf, .doc, or .docx). - Hard copies are not accepted, and;
4) Document style / format: A4;margin: Left: 2 cm, Right: 2 cm, Top: 2.5 cm, Bottom: 2, 5 cm.

 

Structure of Manuscripts
• Research Articles: (a) Title, (b) Author, (c) Institution, (d) Email address, (e) Abstract, (f) Keywords, (g) Introduction, (h) Methods, (i) Results and Discussions, (j) Conclusions, and (k) References.
• Extensive article / book review / report / literature review / conceptual research: (a) Article Title, (b) Abstract, (c) Keywords, (d) Introduction, (e) Discussions, (f) Conclusions , and (g) References.
• Important Notes for Authors: The author(s) should include; the name of the Author(s) only (without any degrees), and Institution. The correspondence regarding the article mustbe addressed to the Author's Name, full mailing address (including the street name or PO Box), City, and Country (using postal abbreviations), and postal code (e-mail:nameaffiliation.ac.id).


Software Recommendations for managing citations and references
We recommend that the authors use MENDELEY, ZOTERO, or ENDNOTE software.

 

Final Check 
The author needs to ensure that the manuscript is in agreement with all of the following items: 
1. The author gives Jurnal Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (JBIPA) the first publication right.
2. Cover :15 words maximum; Times New Roman font; bold letters; size 16; one page; center alignment; Comprehensively and briefly written, and convey the main findings of the research or topic / idea.
3. The author agrees to provide his/her identity based on the following format: the Author (s) Name only (i.e., without title or position), Name of Institution, in City (if applicable). The correspondence regarding the article must be addressed to the Author's Name, full mailing address (including the street name or PO Box), city, country (using postal abbreviations), and postal code (e-mail: nameaffiliation.ac.id).
4. Abstract should be written in English (100 - 150 words). 
5. Keywords contain relevant words for indexing purposes. Please choose about 5 words to ensure the text can be easily identified and quoted. 
6. Tables and Images: Be sure to show a list of tables or numbers in the text. Numbers (graphics, illustrations, line drawings) must be provided in an electronic format with a minimum resolution of 600 dpi per inch (dpi) up to 1200 dpi. The halftone screen must be at least 300 dpi. JPEG.
7. References use APA 6th edition. Make sure that all references mentioned in the text are listed in the reference section and vice versa, and the spelling of the author's name and year is consistent.
8. The text shouldbe written in one space, Times New Roman font; size 11; justify alignment; except the title uses size 16; Bold, left flat letters and formal sentence writing sentences.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has notbeen previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (oran explanation has been providedin Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, orWordPerfectdocument file format.
  3. Where available,URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text issingle-spaced; uses a 12-point font;employsitalics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tablesare placedwithin the text at theappropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, whichis found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
